The Blueprint Terms

First and foremost, The Blueprint exists to support Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority PR and comms pros.

We want to work with organisations equally appalled by the findings of the CIPR’s Race in PR report and committed to creating meaningful change in a sector that is 92% white and has a clear race problem.

We want to work with great organisations doing great work like the likes of Harvard, Cowshed, Hope&Glory, Ketchum and CCgroup. We want to work with organisations as inspiring as Manifest, Blurred, InFusion Comms, Stronger Stories and Cirkle. Organisations that excite us, that get it and get The Blueprint, that fill us with hope and can be genuinely inspiring partners.

Interested in securing The Blueprint for LinkedIn likes and accolades? Don’t apply. The Blueprint is not here to be used as your organisation’s USP.

(Likewise, if you know your organisation has a race problem, we urge you to do the work and not apply for The Blueprint to be a sticking plaster for your broken leg.)

Before you apply, we recommend you read the FAQS and note the following terms:

^
Applying for The Blueprint is no guarantee your organisation will secure The Blueprint or Blueprint Ally status. Quite simply we will only work with organisations genuinely committed to meaningful change and with the track record to prove it. For the sake of Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority PR and comms pros we cannot give organisations the benefit of the doubt. In doubt? We will err on the side of caution and not award. If you’re a true diversity champion, you will understand and support this.
^
Only organisations with a strong and consistent track record for promoting diversity and inclusion are eligible to apply for The Blueprint. Therefore, only organisations running for a minimum of four years (with full time staff – excluding founders – for a minimum of three years) are eligible to apply for The Blueprint.
^
The Blueprint takes a zero-tolerance approach to racism, harassment, bullying, intimidation or microaggressions. For Blueprinted agencies, that could mean the removal of the diversity mark and for applicants, that could mean disqualification from the application process for up to three years.
^
The Blueprint is committed to transparency and accountability. Agencies awarded The Blueprint are expected to publicly state the work they have done to secure The Blueprint and the results they have achieved. Agencies that refuse to discuss the diversity work detailed in their Blueprint application will not receive The Blueprint or The Blueprint Ally status.
^

Awarded agencies are signed up to The Blueprint commitments and are expected to work towards all including publishing diversity data.

^
The Blueprint judges can request clarification or additional information on any point raised in a Blueprint application. Refusal or inability to provide either clarification or additional information will result in disqualification for up to one year.
^
Organisations applying for The Blueprint are expected to provide accurate information in their application form. Should the judges ask for clarification or proof of a specific point and an organisation is unable to provide it, organisations risk disqualification for up to one year.
^
The application deadline for The Blueprint diversity mark is midday on the first Thursday of March, June, September and December. Late applications will be refused.

Run a comms business genuinely committed to diversity and inclusion with a strong track record to prove it? Rooting for talented Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority PR and comms pros to get the careers they deserve? Doing good and committed to being good? Then apply for The Blueprint. We’d love to work with you.
